David Jones offers laybys.

Layby allows you buy a product and pay for it in installments before taking it home.

Layby sales are governed by the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) for Australia and Fair Trading Act 1986 for New Zealand.

All layby’s will be charged a $12.00 layby fee (not payable in New Zealand)

All layby’s require a minimum 20% deposit (initial deposit can only be paid using cash, EFTPOS savings/cheque account or gift card)

All layby’s require instalments of 20% to be paid each fortnight. If you fail to make a payment, we may cancel the layby with 7 days’ notice.

All layby’s will expire 63 days from date of sale.

A 20% termination fee will be charged for all cancelled and expired layby’s (not payable in ACT, Australia).

You may cancel your layby at any time and will receive a refund for all payments made (less termination fee as per point 5 above).

Layby’s must be collected in full and cannot be separated into multiple parcels.

You must advise David Jones of any changes to your address.

Layby is not available for online purchases.

Afterpay is not accepted for LayBy payments (initial deposits and/or instalment payments).

You can layby any full priced item excluding:

* Gift cards or ePay vouchers

* Custom made or altered items

* Electrical or big ticket (e.g. furniture) items

* Items from Christian Louboutin or Louis Vuitton

All brands included in our 30 Day Change of Mind Refund Policy are excluded from Layby.
